The company

“The taste of Arctic purity” describes not only our delicious products, but also our company – we come from the far north of Europe and use oats that grow just below the Arctic circle. Climatic conditions that are unique in the world make this possible and provide us with raw materials of such quality that all we have to do is pack them. For many years, it has been our goal to bring high quality oat products to the consumer. And we’re still getting better every day.

Our claim

Pure air, clean water and good soil – in our opinion, these are the only things that oats need to become the best oats. And if the midnight sun also provides the necessary growth spurt, all the better. But most important for us is that we leave nature in peace, and that it is not disturbed by any human soul. In one of the most sparsely populated countries on earth, this is of course no problem. And the result is evident not only in the golden yellow colour, but also in the taste – inimitably nutty, our flakes simply melt in the mouth.

Our history

More than 20 years ago, the Finnish company Raisio launched the Nordic brand. But that was not the beginning – our roots go back much further. On 3 February 1939, Finnish farmers founded a mill under the name of “Oy Vehnä Ab” to process their own grain into flour. The first product was called “Vakio”, a white flour. Naturally, the company’s areas of business have changed over the years. For instance, oil and margarine plants as well as malt were processed in the 1950s. These days, Raisio’s vision is to be a forerunner in ecological and healthy snacks and an active developer of sustainable food chain. And Nordic, along with its delicious oat products, is a result of this approach.
